What if I want to race?
- If you want to race on our elite team you will need to apply for club
membership, then ask for a tryout. We have a specially formulated
cycling "combine" to select our team. Or, we will base our
decision on past USAC history/results. You will either be selected for
the development team or invited to our elite team. Our elite team
consists of riders in cats 4 to 1, including Masters. As a development
rider, you will receive training and guidance and you will be able to
participate in any racing event you wish to enter.
What are the differences between the development team and the elite
team?
- The differences are experience, ability and benefits. Our elite
team members are given special sponsorship discounts, uniform discounts and
other benefits. They also must carry a USCF license. The development team, receives regular club benefits,
as well as specific training and guidance. They also need only apply
for "one-day" USCF liceneses, when they want to race. We encourage all levels of
cyclists that are interested in racing to apply. We love getting
enthusiastic riders and developing them into future champions, or at least
stronger riders than they were prior to joining our team.
What if I don't want to race, but want to be apart of the club?
We would still love to have you. We are a club and invite all those
interested in riding and being apart of a club. You can even fill much
needed support roles for the team during their races.
What responsibilities do I have to the club?
- We pride ourselves on being a small, close-knit, cycling family.
The only responsibilities you have with joining the club is to enjoy the
sport of cycling, ride responsible, observe all the clubs rules and bylaws
and to volunteer your time when we put on a club event.
My child wants to race BMX, can he/she join?
- Absolutely! We are very excited about getting kids involved in
both road racing and BMX. We have a youth BMX development team for
children ages 4 through 13. These kids get the same benefits as our
elite road team.
